The Story of the StarfishOne day, after a storm had left hundreds - if not thousands - of starfish on a long stretch of white sand, grownups watched in amusement as a young boy walked up and down the beach picking up starfish after starfish and throwing them back into the ocean.
An older man watched him in amusement. Finally, he approached the boy and spoke out with a chuckle, “You know, you can’t save all these starfish. There’s just too many of them. You’ll never make a difference.”
The boy simply reached down, picked up one more starfish and threw it into the water as he replied, “No, but I made a difference for that one.”

The purpose of this new ministry of Alpine Chapel is to make a difference, one child at a time. We strive to create a culture of proactively caring for orphans by bringing information and resources about orphan care opportunities to Alpine families. It is our prayer that the reality of God having adopted us as His children would ripple through Alpine Chapel - and through our community - and inspire us to make a difference in the lives of children who otherwise would have no family.
