Family Bible Adventure
Thank You! Because of the dedication and hard (but fun) work of over 60 volunteers, 37 families from the Alpine Chapel community (and beyond) experienced "Nazareth: Where Jesus was a Kid" the week of June 13.
From the blessings bestowed on children during the worship-filled opening sessions, to the laughter-inducing intergenerational games, the creatively-displayed activities in the marketplace, and the stories of Jesus told at Mary's house, families grew together. With attendance reaching a peak of 110 participants, a special thanks goes to the parents and grandparents who dedicated this week to moving forward on their family’s spiritual journey.
During the week, the GO! Team, (Alpine's missions ministry), working with Project Serve from Bible Adventure Village launched a backpack program to share the gospel with impoverished children in Latin America. Families in the “Nazareth” marketplace dyed 100 simple cloth backpacks bright colors. These backpacks will be shipped with a Spanish-language New Testament through a global missions organization, "Operation Kid to Kid". Children stepped up to raise a portion of shipping and book costs by doing chores, running a lemonade stand and even contributing birthday gift money.
A backpack with a New Testament can be sponsored for just $2. Email Children's Pastor Ken Johanson if you would like to contribute.
